NUDE FIGURATIVE PAINTINGS
These paintings depict women engaging in intimate relationships with peers who may represent mothers, sisters, close friends, or even men. Through a range of emotions, such as tenderness, sexual tension, jealousy, sadness, and anger, I explore the triangles and complexities that ensue as people interact, particularly when seeking physical and emotional comfort. I paint the women naked to depict their willingness to be vulnerable while simultaneously embracing their sexuality and bodies, thus taking ownership of both their femininity and their power. My objective is to challenge the viewers to question their own assumptions about strength, beauty and intimacy.
